Goop Bottled Your Post-Workout Glow With its First Makeup Launch

Goop Beauty

Love or hate the brand, you cant deny there’s a certain glow that’s synonymous with Goop. Whether your mind goes to founder Gwyneth Paltrow’s forever-fresh face or how you personally look after a particularly goop-y morning (good night’s rest, ice bath, and spirulina-filled smoothie hello), it’s an inevitable connection—and also pretty stunning.

Now, that famous gleam can be yours with the literal tap of your fingers. For the brands first foray into color (their fab, garden-hued Goopgenes lip balms, $20, don’t count), Goop Beauty just launched Colorblur Glow Balm ($34). These creamy, moisturizing balms can be kept on hand for an effortless pop of GP-approved color, even if you got less than eight hours of rest and are in no mood to cultivate gratitude. Read on for everything you need to know about Colorblur.

The Inspiration

Jean Godfrey-June, Goop’s Executive Beauty Director, told us that Colorblur was developed to capture that special glow you get post-workout.

“At our In Goop Health events, we often have some kind of movement class, and the way everybody looks when they emerge from one—healthy, glowing, happy-looking skin—was definitely an inspiration,” she said.

According to Godfrey-June, the balm was the perfect product for goop’s first dip into color because, at its core, it’s still skincare.

“If you’ve got great skin, you don’t have to get into the business of ‘correcting’ with a ton of makeup, so the fact that the balms are made with antioxidants and moisturizers along with the gorgeous pigment felt really right to us,” she said. “It’s this little magic skincare pot that wakes you up and gives you a glow.”

The Formula

Available in five colors (a warm peach dubbed Slipper, soft mauve Velveteen, soft fuchsia Venus, warm terracotta Whiskey, and soft berry Afterglow) the multipurpose balm features ingredients like vitamin E to soothe and protect the skin against environmental stressors, antioxidant-rich sea buckthorn oil to nourish, and anti-inflammatory safflower oil to moisturize and support the skin’s natural barrier.

Alongside their propensity for natural-looking beauty, it’s no secret that goop Beauty prides themself on a short ingredient list. Colorblur was formulated to omit a longlist of the brands no-gos: parabens, petroleum, phthalates, SLS, SLES, PEGs, TEA, DEA, silicones, and artificial dyes/fragrances included.

How to Use it

Colorblur was designed for use anywhere the sun hits your face: cheeks, lips, brow bone, and temples included. Simply scoop up a bit of the super-soft balm and smooth it onto your skin with your fingers, a brush, or sponge. Then, blend for a seamless finish.

Godfrey-June isn’t typically a blush person, so she loves the balm’s sheerness. “I just dab a little with my finger onto the apple of each cheek, then smooth the rest over my lips—it melts right in, wakes up my face, and kind of pulls everything together.”
