According to Graham, she suggests shopping for 100% cotton styles as they offer the best long-lasting comfy fit. Majette adds tips to maintain the quality of your pieces, especially hoodies, by opting to wash them with cold water. “Youll want to consider the maintenance of the clothes you buy, after all, you dont want your money being wasted,” she says. “Normally I will wash my hoodie with cold water (especially if its a vibrant color) to avoid it fading, dry it on cool for a little while, and take it out before the cycle ends to allow the hoodie to air dry the rest of the way. I find that air-drying my hoodies keeps the arms from shrinking, and I have long arms so thats the last thing I need happening.”
Fit
Hoodies are synonymous with laid-back, oversized fits but not all hoodies have to be baggy (though, we love them too.) Majette usually opts for a slightly bigger design as it’s easier to wear it out. “The best way that I can easily style every outfit is by remembering this method: baggy at the top and fitted at the bottom, or fitted at the top and baggy at the bottom,” she suggests.
When it comes to cropped hoodies, Majette recommends being selective with your choice of bottoms. “When styling anything cropped—let alone a hoodie—youll want to consider what bottoms you are pairing it with. Cropped hoodies always look great with a low-riding bottom, whether it be a cargo mini skirt or boyfriend jeans, the goal is to look effortless. If this is a look for your pilates class, then maybe consider wearing the cropped hoodie lying over your shoulders as an accessory rather than on your arms. This will elevate your athleisure aesthetic from plain to preppy.”
