We all know the age-old advice regarding makeup and your bedtime: Remove it before hitting the pillow. Its a habit that feels annoying in the moment but may ultimately lead to brighter, clearer skin and a cleaner pillowcase. While you can try the sans water method in a pinch, were advocating for a full-on K-beauty–inspired ritual meant to keep your skin as healthy as possible at night.

So who better to give a full rundown on how best to remove makeup than licensed esthetician, author, and co-founder of Soko Glam and Then I Met You, Charlotte Cho, and Kim Chi, a legendary drag queen from RuPauls Drag Race season 8 and founder of KimChi Chic Beauty? "My skin used to crack really badly, and I had flaky, peeling skin and scabs around my eyes from excessive lash glue," Chi explains. But after using Chos recommended products, Kim Chi gets complimented on their skin all the time.

First, watch their (very) involved removal process and find the products they used throughout the video below. Each one is Kim Chi–tested, esthetician-approved.
